HAMMER SERIES

WHO IS THE HAMMER?

Points will be awarded to each Hammer Series tournament placer. Special medals will be given at each Hammer Series tournament.  At the end of the season, numbers will be tallied, and THE HAMMER will receive the ultimate Hammer Award at Kid's State.

 

Boys and Girls each have their own criteria.  See below for details.

Saturday, November 25th - Parkview Thanksgiving Classic

Saturday, December 9th - Darlington School

Saturday, December 30th - Lumpkin Open

Sunday, January 21st - Walton Raider Classic

Saturday, January 27th - SGAC Devil Dog Challenge

Sunday, February 4th - ICON Rob Horton Memorial


HAMMER SERIES FINAL RESULTS FOR 2023-2024

 

Boys Bracket Criteria For Winning the Hammer Series:

  1. Placement Points at each Series Tournament:
    1. First Place = 4 points
    2. Second Place = 3 points
    3. Third Place = 2 points
    4. Fourth Place = 1 point
  2. “Head to Head” Competition:
    1. If Timmy and Dave are tied and have wrestled each other, the winner of their matches wins.
    2. If Timmy and Dave have not wrestled each other or if they are tied in “Head to Head” competition, then:
  3. Number of Series Tournaments Competed:
    1. Timmy and Dave have 16 points.
    2. Timmy wrestled in 5 tournaments to Dave’s 4.
    3. Timmy Wins
  4. Highest Placements:
    1. Timmy placed 1st in 3 tournaments.
    2. Dave placed 1st in 2 tournaments.
    3. Timmy wins.
  5. If Wrestlers are still tied after the above criteria has been satisfied, a Best of 3 challenge match will be wrestled at a tournament prior to Kids State or at a location to be determined.

 

Additional Information:

  • Wrestlers can participate in 2 weight classes and win a Hammer Series Trophy for each weight class.
  • Points earned for the weight class that you wrestle in are not transferable to another age/weight class.
  • Points will not be combined from one weight class to another weight class.

 

 

Girls Bracket Criteria For Winning the Hammer Series:

  1. Placement Points at each Series Tournament:
    1. First Place = 4 points
    2. Second Place = 3 points
    3. Third Place = 2 points
    4. Fourth Place = 1 point
    5. You will receive points for the bracket you wrestle in each week.  To get points, you have to have at least two people (two including yourself) in the bracket.  One award for K-2, 3-5 and Middle School. 
  2. “Head to Head” Competition:

    1. If Sally and Jenny are tied and have wrestled each other, the winner of their matches wins.
    2. If Sally and Jenny have not wrestled each other or if they are tied in “Head to Head” competition, then:
  3. Number of Series Tournaments Competed:
    1. Sally and Jenny have 16 points.
    2. Sally wrestled in 5 tournaments to Jenny’s 4.
    3. Sally Wins
  4. Highest Placements:
    1. Sally placed 1st in 3 tournaments.
    2. Jenny placed 1st in 2 tournaments.
    3. Sally wins.
  5. If Wrestlers are still tied after the above criteria have been satisfied, a Best of 3 challenge match will be wrestled at a tournament prior to Kids State or at a location to be determined.
