Who is considered a 1st Year Wrestler?
Youth wrestlers who are in their first year competing are considered 1st Year Wrestlers.
Sometimes, a wrestler may purchase a USA card to practice only, but not compete. That year is not considered 1st year if they do not compete. Wrestlers are considered 1st year during their first year of competition only.
DOUBLE BRACKETING IS NOT ALLOWED IN 1ST YEAR EVENTS
USA CARDS:
If you have not purchased your USA card, please do ASAP. It can be purchased here: https://www.usawmembership.com/login

Wrestling is perhaps the purest form of athletic competition to exist in the realm of organized sports. There are no bats or balls, or pucks or sticks. No pads or helmets or jerseys. There's no time to rethink strategy, regroup, or even to catch your breath. There's only you, and your opponent of equal weight and size. Experience, preparation and the will to succeed will determine the victor. There's no doubt about it, wrestling tops the list of intense, highly-competitive sports.
If you cannot find the information you are looking for, send an email to kidsdirector@teamgawrestling.org.
